Tennessee


Tenn. Code Ann. § 68-58-101 et seq. (2006) permits a mother to breastfeed an infant 12 months or younger in any location, public or private, that the mother is authorized to be, and prohibits local governments from criminalizing or restricting breastfeeding. Specifies that the act of breastfeeding shall not be considered public indecency as defined by § 39-13-511; or nudity, obscene, or sexual conduct as defined in § 39-17-901. (H.B. 3582)

Tenn. Code Ann. § 50-1-305 (1999) requires employers to provide daily unpaid break time for a mother to express breast milk for her infant child. Employers are also required to make a reasonable effort to provide a private location, other than a toilet stall, in close proximity to the work place for this activity. (SB 1856)

Virginia


Va. Code § 2.2-1147.1 (2002) guarantees a woman the right to breastfeed her child on any property owned, leased or controlled by the state. The bill also stipulates that childbirth and related medical conditions specified in the Virginia Human Rights Act include activities of lactation, including breastfeeding and expression of milk by a mother for her child. (H.B. 1264)

Va. House Joint Resolution 145 (2002) encourages employers to recognize the benefits of breastfeeding and to provide unpaid break time and appropriate space for employees to breastfeed or express milk.

Va. Code Ann. § 18.2-387 (1994) exempts mothers engaged in breastfeeding from indecent exposure laws.

Va. Code Ann. § 8.01-341.1 (2005) provides that a mother who is breastfeeding a child may be exempted from jury duty upon her request. The mother need not be "necessarily and personally responsible for a child or children 16 years of age or younger requiring continuous care during normal court hours" as the existing statute provides. ( 2005 Chap. 195, HB 2708)

HE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE BIG 50

It never gets easier just the tears stop rolling down your face has much. There is never a day that goes by that I don't miss my dad. Today is his b-day he would have been the big 50. I try to remember the good time. Like when he used to come up to me and look at me funny and then give me a snoopy kiss. The many times we talking on the phone when i was cooking and he would say he was coming over to eat but he was far away and he couldn't. The time we want to Va for my sister graduation and on the way back we stop at the store and he got beer and told me to distract Karen AKA BITCH so he could put the beer in the cooler lol.If you know my dad you would say that would be some thing he would do lol. Oh he has missed so much.

Tommy Grandpa passed away last night in his sleep. We will miss him. He was 82 years.

We had a good time today with the kids. I love not working weekends so we can go do thing has a family with out daycare kids. Dustin was so happy. He got to see alot of fish and if you know Dustin nothing makes him happier then fish. I hope you all had a good weekend.

Sunday we take the kids to see a movie. This was Mariyah first movie lol not like she cares but she did like to see the lights. Then after the moves we went to a few stores looking for shoes for Mariyah. Dustin seen they had a water fountain so me and him had to play in it :). Thomas stayed with Mariyah and me and Dustin played in the water we had fun. Today I take the kids to get there picture done. Dustin take really good ones and Mariyah cried b/c she wanted some Mariyah Juice. At the end they take good pictures and I cant want to get them in. I think Mariyah is starting to coo and ka. Hope you all had a good weekend.

Cloth Diapering not for everyone.

Cloth Diapering not for everyone. You my not want to use them but don't put down others for using them. I don't put you down for not using them. I'm going to start my cloth diapering Monday :). I don't care if you don't like me using them or what ever you think about me using them b/c its not your baby. Wish me luck :). Mariyah is doing good just getting big on her mommy. Dustin couldn't be more happy to have her here. She rolled over from her tummy to her back on Oct 1. She can hold her head up really good also. Dustin is off for two weeks and we are going to take him and mariyah to the park. This will be M&M first time to the park.

Rehab

Its cheaper to die then to go to rehab!!!! I'm sad today b/c I was looking up rehab for a friend and only if you have money can you get help. It makes me so mad b/c if you want to get help you can the only this is you need 29,000 that all.

Baby update

This month has gone by so fast. Next week I will be in VA Beach and I can’t wait to see my family and best friend and other friends I grew up with. My sister and I are having a baby shower together on June 21^st. I can’t wait. I never thought we would have babies at the same time; if any at all. For me, I had Dustin so I was always ok if I never got pregnant or not, but in our family it’s hard for the girls to get pregnant so i was worried my sister would never have children. On the other hand, if I never had gotten pregnant, I would have been happy with Dustin. The only thing I was missing was the experience of being pregnant. The baby just doesn’t want to move for mommy any more. I went to the Dr on June 2nd and everything was ok, but on June 3^rd, the baby just stopped moving. For 2 days I didn't feel Baby G, so I went back to the Dr for them to listen to the heart beat and it was a good one at 174 at first and it averaged at 156. I still have not felt the baby move that much since then. I’m going to make another appt. before I go to VA Beach to make sure everything is ok. I know it is fine, but I’m just not feeling the baby all the time like i did and it worries me. I hope you all are doing good bye for now.

MAD

Ok so here is my day. I got up at 7:45 and my mother-law was here. That’s ok, I forgot she was coming today but she did and we all went out to eat at 8 AM and we got home around 9:30 AM. I had to work at 10 AM. No biggie.

The baby didn’t like what I had to eat so I started feeling sick. On top of that I went to sleep the night before at 10 PM and I woke up at 1 AM for the 1 clock pee and most of the time we go to bed after that but Baby G said NO; I’m going to keep my mommy up all night (Or at least until 5am). So the combination of no sleep and not feeling good made me have a bad day.

So nap time FINALLY came which meant I could get an hour to just relax without any kids. I only have one kid at nap time to put down. At 1 PM, I have another child that came, so I put her down for a nap. By this time my relaxation is half over b/c I still have to clean up while the kids are asleep.

The kids get up at 3 PM and I have another child that came at 3:30 PM. The mommy said the girl did not have a nap so I started to put her down to take one, but I realized that she was not going down without a fight, so I just let her stay up.

Bed time is 8:30 most of the time but I was not feeling good and one of my night time kids didn’t have a nap either, so 8 PM was tonight’s bed time for both b/c the other children didn’t want to listen to me.

The dad of the child that came at 3:30 PM got here at 8 so I got her ready to go. Before they left he asked me if she got her clothes dirty and I said no but I did give her a bath. He then said that she had one before she was dropped off earlier today. I explained that unless somebody tells me, I have no way of knowing she had already had a bath, but she is defiantly clean I guess.

I told him I was just about to put her bed so he had come just in time :)

He didn’t like that too much. He looked as if he wanted to say, “Why is she going to bed so soon?”, but he never actually said anything to me about it, I could just tell.

Anyways, I don’t feel good and I was and am bitchy so I just wanted to write it down to help me feel better.

Tommy can feel the baby move now

So I been feeling the baby move and was waiting for tommy to feel Baby G to and today was the day. Dustin was trying to feel baby G the other day and cant and he was not here when tommy could feel the baby move. I hope Dustin can feel the baby soon to. I think Dustin is ok with the baby now lol. Dustin is so happy we are going to Va Beach next month. Thats all he talks about and going fishing with Grandpa and Uncle Casey. I cant wait to see my family and my best friend she will be in Va beach at the same time im there. Will nap is almost over so back to work I go.

Friendship... is not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything.
